On Recommendations

When you need to buy something, who do you ask?

I've been thinking about recommendations a lot lately. By impulse, I'm an online shopper, preferring to put my confidence in the aggregate reviews from a bunch of strangers. My coworker Bill is the exact opposite - he's the kind of person that "has a guy" for everything. If you need a tax accountant, he's got a guy. Need a handmade suit, he's got a guy. Hell, he even has a neurosurgeon, if you need one.

Over the last couple of weeks I've written a bunch of online reviews for things I like - a crafts podcast, a book, a dress shop. It's so easy to complain when service is poor or a product is lousy, that it feels nice to share when an experience is good.

This week I'm going to share some things I really like with you. What are the things you love and recommend?
